Office Updates

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

Teeth Whitening

If your smile is coming more and more infrequently and you find yourself hiding it from the world due to unsightly stains and discolorations on your teeth, you may be a good candidate for professional teeth whitening. While nobody wants to admit that they are a little bit vain about their appearance, the fact remains that a beautiful smile can transform a face for the better.

If stains on your teeth are making you feel poorly about yourself and are dealing a damaging blow to your self-esteem, then treatment with us here at Carolina Smiles Family Dentistry for a professional teeth whitening procedure may be exactly what you need to help restore your confidence and your ability to smile freely once again.

Why Choose Professional Teeth Whitening

Some of you may be wondering why you need to have your teeth professionally whitened with us. You may be thinking that you can simply pop into a big box store and pick up some whitening toothpaste or generic over-the-counter whitening kit to help brighten your smile.

Unfortunately, these products are not only ineffective against severe dental stains. They can be dangerous to your oral health. They are often unregulated and can contain iffy, dangerous chemicals. At best, you may get no results from them. However, they can also damage your dental enamel and harm your gums. We strongly advise against using these products, and instead recommend that you have your teeth whitened with us.

Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening

Your smile is unique and one-of-a-kind, and when you come to see us for a whitening, we will treat you with that understanding. There is no one single approach to teeth whitening, which is why we will work with you to give you a customized treatment for your stains. We will discuss not only the treatment with you, but we will also make sure we both understand your goals to give you a tailored whitening treatment to give you the best outcome for your smile. You can pick out the final color that you want, allowing you to have a natural-looking final result.

We also use only professional grade products in our office. They are stronger and work faster, but with less harsh side effects. We are always careful in applying tooth whitening products to our patients to avoid harming the dental enamel and the gums. This can prevent lasting tooth sensitivity and damage to your gums that may lead to unexpected tooth loss. When you have your teeth whitened with us, you can count on us keeping you as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure. It is safer to have your teeth whitened with us, and your results will last longer than what you could find in an over-the-counter kit.

Many of our patients can benefit greatly from a professional tooth whitening procedure. They are not just for special occasions, either, and can be helpful to anyone looking to improve the appearance of their smile.
