Office Updates

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

Veneers Are a Great Way to Cover Minor Dental Imperfections

Veneers Are a Great Way to Cover Minor Dental ImperfectionsThere was a time when if you had stained teeth or a little chip, a small gap or a tooth that was shorter than the rest, there was virtually nothing you could do about it or if you could fix it, the fix was clunky and noticeable. Well, those days are gone.

Advancements in dental science have come up with many solutions the most popular of which are veneers. Veneers are thin slices of porcelain that slip over your tooth and are cemented in place. They look great and can fix many minor dental imperfections. As an added bonus, they are not as expensive as some of the alternatives.

What Is So Great About Dental Veneers?

Probably what our patients like the most about veneers is that look just like real teeth. Once we have them in place you really can't tell the difference between the veneer and the natural teeth in your mouth. One of the reasons for this is the material with which it's made and the other reason is that we can match the veneers to the color of your natural teeth. This is a huge plus particularly if you are using veneers to cover badly stained teeth.

The next good thing about veneers is that they act like natural teeth. Although you don't want to use the tooth covered with a veneer as a tool, as you may know, aside from that they perform just like your natural teeth.

Another benefit is that they are permanent. We prepare your tooth to accept the veneer and cement It in place. Once that is completed, your tooth is permanent. If you suffer from bruxism, clenching or grinding your teeth, you may have to wear a mouth guard at night to protect your veneers. Though they are permanent and are strong, they are not natural teeth and nothing can compare to the strength of your natural teeth.

If you have any questions or think you may be a candidate for veneers, give us a call.
