Office Updates

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

DIY Whitening Systems Can Come with Risks

Posted on 5/30/2019 by Carolina Smiles Family Dentistry
DIY Whitening Systems Can Come with RisksEveryone wants whiter, better looking teeth. It is just something that is wanted. When it comes to having your teeth whitened, know that having it done in our office is much better than going off and doing a DIY kit that you can purchase over the counter at any store.

Continuing of Whitening
When you do the whitening on your own at home, you will notice that it doesn't stay for very long. This is because it is not prescription strength whitening formulas in the product. These are products you can only get through our qualified dental office.

Tooth Whitening May Do More Harm

Before you whiten your teeth, regardless if you're doing it at home or at our office, it is important that you advise us first. Not only because this can cause gum irritation, but those that have sensitive, worn out enamel or soft teeth might do more harm to their teeth than good.

Doing Them Right
The teeth whitening product that you are using might have vague directions on what needs to be done. When this is the case, you might not be doing the whitening how it should be done. This can cause problems with your mouth and overall oral health.

Skip doing the teeth whitening on your own when you have our office here. We provide an affordable way to whiten your teeth professionally so you can get the smile you want.

If you're considering teeth whitening, then give our office a call. We can schedule a time for you to come in and get the whitening that you need. We can also answer any and all questions you might have about our whitening process, so you know that it is the right method for you to take. Call us today and feel good about your whiter, better looking smile tomorrow.
